Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Afternoon,
The leaves haven’t quite started to turn colour, but the days are getting shorter and the mornings are cooler signaling that Fall is officially here. The course remains in great condition and the demand for tee times remains at an all time high. The month of September saw over 5170 rounds of golf played (4,554 member rounds and 616 guest rounds) for an average of 172 rounds per day. Weather had an impact in 2021 as we lost 3 days (8th, 22nd and 23rd) and an additional day of closure for the Wise Guys charity event on the 27th. Removing those days from the calculation we had an average of 187 rounds per day in 2021 in the month of September. This is actually a slight increase in the daily average vs. September of 2020 (185 rounds per day). Last month the NGCOA published their regional report for rounds played and while golf continues to enjoy enormous popularity, every other region in Ontario reported a decline in monthly rounds with the exception of Niagara which continued to surpass 2020 numbers.
Last week, we had our friends from Club Car in to do some additional maintenance on our cart fleet, including replacing even more of our current lead acid batteries. In total we were able to “refresh” an additional 8-10 carts to help improve some of the quality issues we have been experiencing.
Before we move on to the rest of today’s e-blast we also want to take a moment to recognize a key member of our Professional Team who got married this past Saturday, October 2nd. Congratulations to Adam Steinschifter!!! We wish Charlotte & Adam a long and happy life together - from all your friends here at Lookout Point Country Club

Starting on Sunday, October 10th our morning tee sheet will begin at 8:30 am daily and we will be eliminating the weekend crossover for the remainder of the season. As the weather gets cooler, we begin to run the risk of frost delays, and the back 9 on our course does not get full sun until much later in the day then the front 9 does.
The Golf Shop hours will also be adjusted. As of Sunday, October 10th we will be open daily from 8:00 am to sunset (approximately 7:30 pm)
The Practice range and facilities will continue to be open 30 mins prior to the first tee time until dusk (our regularly weekly maintenance hours will remain in place)
Guest Fees will be adjusted after Thanksgiving weekend. Starting on Tuesday, October 12th guest fees will be offered at our off-season rate ($89 with cart included for 18 holes). The member lottery will remain in place and guest times may only be booked after the member lottery has been completed.

PGA OF CANADA CHAMPIONSHIP
It was announced earlier this summer that the PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf and with support from Golf Away Tours and G&G Golf Company has a date finalized on Canadian soil, as the association looks forward to hosting the top Head Professionals, Executive Professionals, Head Teaching Professionals and Master Professionals in the country at Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ontario.
The official practice round is scheduled for October 25, while the three-round competition will run from October 26-28.
“We are so pleased to round out our National Championship schedule at such a tremendous venue in Lookout Point Country Club,” said PGA of Canada president Teejay Alderdice. “I’d like to thank the staff at Lookout Point for offering their facility to us for the week, as well as Callaway Golf for being such a tremendous partner of the association.”
We are looking for members who want to volunteer and be part of this incredible event. Here is a quick rundown of the various roles and responsibilities. Once we have a better idea of how many volunteers we have we will be in touch with more detail regarding specific daily schedules. Click on the button below to show your interest. PLEASE NOTE: The PGA of CANADA has made it a requirement that all participants in this event are fully vaccinated.
Registration - Help with registration on Monday, October 25th
Live Scoring - scoring stations will be setup around the golf course to capture scores of the groups every 3-4 holes.
Standard Bearers - Usually on the final day we will have standard bearers accompany the last two or three groups. This requires one or two people to work together with each group. One person can hold the standard sign , while the other will be given a tablet as well to do live hole by hole scoring.
Spotters/Forecaddies - we will need members to help as spotters on #1, #10 and #13
Transportation - responsible for shuttling volunteers to different locations where they are positioned on course. This position could also help with replenishing water coolers or hot chocolate/coffee.
Caddies - some players may request caddies for the tournament rounds.
Practice Range - a few volunteers to help manage the range in the mornings. Help move ropes if needed, replenish balls for the players, keep the hitting areas tidy and clean and assist it making sure players at the range know when they need to head to the tee.

PREORDERS - CLICGEAR & ALPARD EWHEELS
As you are aware, this season has had major impact on the supply chain of many golf companies. ClicGear & Alphard were one of those companies that saw many delays due to shipping container shortages and factories being closed due to covid-19 outbreaks. Unfortunately, due to this ongoing production shortages, there will be no availability before the end of 2021 golf season. In the past these have been excellent holiday gift ideas. As a result, all outstanding and all open backorders have been cancelled by the supplier.
We are going to try something different in order to avoid similar delays in 2022. We will be taking pre-orders until October 15th marked for April 2022 Delivery.
Production fees have increased along with significant increase in container charges (600%) - ultimately resulting in a noticeable increase in wholesale and retail pricing. Putting our orders in now will allow us to mitigate some of these price increases and also ensure that your have your cart for the start of the 2022 season.
The ClicGear M4 is one of the most popular 3 wheeled push carts on the market. It folds up in no time at all, making it extremely lightweight and portable.
The Alphard E-Wheels turns your clicgear (and some other push carts) into a remote operated caddy. All at a significant savings when compared to the power caddies on the market.
If you are interested in placing a pre-order, do so by clicking on the button below BEFORE October 15th , 2021.
ETIQUETTE REMINDERS
Many private golf courses are still under guest restrictions. We are fortunate here at Lookout Point that we have been able to revert to largely pre-covid guest rules. While we are not accepting advanced guest requests we are able to book you and your guests within your category restrictions once the lottery has been completed for a given day (lottery times are reserved for members only). Over the past few weeks we have seen an uptick in some common areas of concern that we need your help. All members are responsible for their guests while they are on the property and that includes providing your guests the proper information they need to plan their visit to Lookout Point Country Club. Please ensure that your guest is dressed in the proper attire (based on our dress code) and follows the member code of conduct while enjoying the day with us. Remind your guests to repair all ball marks and replace all divots. Vaccination protocols are now in effect for indoor dining - please ensure your guest(s) are aware of these before arrival.
Here are a few great videos from the USGA which we should all take 5 mins to watch and review and make sure we are doing our part to leave the golf course better than we found it!
