Range Hours

Our Driving Range hours will remain modified this week so our Golf Services staff can facilitate daily picks of the range. The range will close nightly at 6:00 pm and may occasionally require closing at various points during the day to facilitate a pick of the golf balls. Please call ahead for up to date availability.

Solheim Cup

Lookout Point Country Club Ladies have competed in a Solheim Cup event for the past 5 years.  The teams in the competition this year included Lookout Point, Bridgewater, Niagara on the Lake, Peninsula Lakes, Port Colborne, Rockway Vineyards, Rolling Meadows and St. Catharines Golf & Country Club.  The clubs are split into 2 divisions and play 4 times during the season, using different formats.  The winners of each division playoff at the end of the season for an overall winner.   LOPCC and NOTL were division winners. Each team hosted 18 holes in the finals and LOPCC won the overall championship.  The Solheim Cup is to be engraved and will sit in our Trophy Case at LOPCC through the 2020 season.  This year our winning ladies included Terry-Lynn Adamson, Tina Drummond, Trish Farrow, Mandy Garner, Jeanne Glavac, Sharon Greenwood, Dianne Haist, Sandy Jeffrey, Julie Kozub, Janice May, Joanna Maund, Laurie Robert, and Daleen Venter.  This is the second time in 5 years that LOPCC has won against tough competition. Please congratulate all of our participating ladies and in particular our Ladies Solheim captains Trish Farrow & Daleen Venter.

Ladies Tombstone

This past Sunday our Ladies section had their annual Tombstone golf tournament. This unique format puts pairs of players together and gives them a specific number of shots (based on their handicaps) to complete the golf course. Once the team runs out of shots they are “killed” and placed their tombstone where their last shot finished. Congratulations to the team of Julie Kozub & Linda Townsend who completed the course with an additional 8 strokes still to spare! Great playing ladies. The rest werent as fortunate as the 18th fairway, 17th green and even the 16th hole had a number of tombstones planted.

We are the champions

The Niagara District Champion of Champions was held Saturday, September 7, 2019.  The Men’s championship came down to a playoff between our own Luke DelGobbo and Matt Graham (Port Colborne). Both players finished their rounds with identical scores of 2 under par 70.  In the playoff, both players were on the green in regulation on the Par 4, 14th hole with Matt taking the title with a birdie while Luke made par.  Both of them played great golf all day.  Our very own Alexandra Taylor won the Ladies Division with a final score of 69, which included 7 birdies and 4 bogies.  Amanda Garner fought hard on a course she was playing for the first time and finished second in the Sr Ladies division with a score of 78, 2 shots back of the eventual winner Sandra Billyard (Port Colborne). Isiah Ellis competed in the Junior Boys Division for Lookout and finished a respectable 3rd with a final score of 81.  Ian Penney competed in the Men’s Senior Division and finished in 10th place.  Lookout Point narrowly edged Port Colborne for the Team title.  Congratulations to all the competitors and Division Winners!

Look What our Members are doing!!!

It’s been a while since we’ve had a Hole in One at Lookout Point. That changed this past week as we celebrated Holes in One by RICK CAMPBELL, MICHAEL FOSTER & ANDY GLAVAC

THANK YOU !!!

On behalf of the staff who had an opportunity to take part in last week’s staff golf outing we want to THANK each and every member who donated toward the prizing for the day! A great day was had by all - we have no idea who won the tournament - at the end of the day what mattered was getting together as a group to celebrate our 2019 season before our student employees head back to school for the fall.

Each team will be made up of a MINIMUM of 8 players (minimum 2 Ladies) and a MAXIMUM of 12 players. We expect this event to sell out quickly, so if you are interested please don’t delay in registering.
