Message from your Professional Staff at Lookout Point Country Club
On behalf of the Professional Staff I want to THANK YOU all for making the first weekend of Golf in 2020 at Lookout Point a huge success. For the most part the weekend went off without a hitch with the vast majority of the membership arriving fully informed of our protocols and complying with them from the start to the end of their time on the property. With that said, there are a couple of reminders that we need to mention as we go forward into a very busy week on our tee sheet. It is very important that we follow our protocols if we want to be able to progress into our next phase of loosening restrictions. By-Law officers, Public and others are paying very close attention, and a slip up in any of these areas can shut us down.
No members are allowed in the Back Shop area for ANY reason. A member of the Lookout Point Staff will assist you if they are available to.
When arriving at the club you MUST follow the pylons and drive up to the Play Coordinator. This is the only way we can monitor who is on property & assure that Covid Declarations as well as advanced Tee Time bookings are accurate. The ONLY exception is for those who have booked a practice range appointment. Those individuals MUST park across the road and check in with the range attendant before beginning their practice session.
2 Bags on carts - Upon further review, we have updated our Best Practices & Protocols to limit carts to ONLY 1 bag per rider - unless the riders are from the same household.
Cart restrictions - UPDATED: During the first phase of our protocols and best practices, carts will be restricted to ONLY members above the age of 18.
Cart Return Area - Our cart return area has been moved to the top of the parking lot (near the garbage bins) in order to prevent blocking both the lower handicap parking spots & the food & beverage take-out area.
Garbage in Carts - Members MUST remove ALL their own garbage from their carts. On Sunday & Monday there were multiple instances where members left garbage in the back baskets and dashboard areas of their carts. Safety recommendations and guidelines prevent our Staff from being able to assist you with garbage removal.
Tee Sheet - you MUST be on the tee sheet in order to play. Walk up play is NOT permitted. Day of booking is allowed via PHONE only so we can assure declarations are signed and control who is on property.
Bookings - Please do NOT put people’s name into your tee time if they are NOT going to be playing with you. There were a number of instances of members blocking or filling in a tee time with another member or members’ name(s). With our system currently restricting only 1 booking per day you are preventing that member(s) from booking a time that they actually want to play in.
We are all in this together! We are incredibly proud of the efforts our staff has made over the past 3 days. A number of them returned to work on 1 day’s notice and immediately were placed into roles that were brand new to them and/or vastly different than what they have done in the past. Thank you to Jen, Dan T., Taylor, Jessie, William, JJ, Nick, Coop, Brian, Swibby, Marty, Dana & Ed for going above and beyond this past weekend!!!
We are aware of the issues that occurred over the weekend with the tee sheet and bookings. We have worked with Jonas to correct these issues, and are glad to report that these have been corrected. The tee sheet will open 7 days in advance at 7:00 am going forward.
Phase 2 - over the next few weeks we will be continuing to monitor government guidelines, industry best practices & the ability of the membership to follow the guidelines we have set out in the hopes that we can begin to loosen some of the restrictions. Some of our plans will include shorter tee time intervals, earlier starting times on the weekends, Lessons & Academy programming, Announcement of on site Fitting Days & Announcement of league play.
Members wishing to book practice slots on the driving range can do so by clicking on the “Driving Range Appointments” button below. We have also added links to the Member Rules & Protocols and our “Welcome Back” video below.
Thank You,
The Professional Team @ Lookout Point Country Club
