WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE GOLF SHOP - EPISODE 9
Message from your Professional Staff at Lookout Point Country Club
We are quickly coming up to the end of the second week of Golf at Lookout Point. As with any launch to the new season there will be a few bumps along the way, but we appreciate all of the member’s patience as we navigate through this very unusual start to the season. Today, we wanted to quickly introduce you to a few of the new staff on the Golf Shop of the operation that you will be meeting over the next few days & weeks:
Dan Trbovic - Dan “Turbo” Trbovic joins us as our newest Shop assistant. Dan graduated from the PGM program at Niagara College in 2009, spent the following 5 years with ClubLink at Glencairn Golf Club and another 2 years as a sales rep for Q1 Golf. Dan approached us early in the season with a desire to get back into the Golf industry and work towards obtaining his PGA of Canada designation. We couldn’t be happier to have Dan on the team.
Evan Jeffrey - Evan is in his final year of the Sports Management program at Brock University. During the summer of 2019 Evan worked with Golf Canada as a Tournament Operations Assistant helping coordinate the setup of many of Golf Canada’s championship events on the West Coast.
Adam Arkell - Adam is in his final year at Niagara College completing a Post Graduate degree in Human Resource Management and Services. Adam is passionate about the hospitality and service industry and has worked at many local restaurants & wineries. Adam coaches Lacrosse & Hockey and we are absolutely thrilled to have him here at Lookout Point this summer!
John Hasson - John is well known in the Niagara golf region. If you’ve ever been to Twenty Valley Golf Course you may have seen him in the Golf Shop or on the Range. John spent over 20 years at Twenty Valley and we jumped at the opportunity to bring him and his expertise on board especially in regards to the new services we are offering at the range.
Jeff Rousseau - Jeff spent the past few seasons at the Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor, Ontario. Jeff is a teacher by profession but has an extensive background in golf and we are excited to have him as part our of services team.
Nick Bisser - Nick is an athlete. He is beginning his career in Sports Management at Brock University. An accomplished hockey player and an all-around great guy! Welcome to the team Nick.
Dave Swibb - By now, we expect that you’ve seen the new clock on the 1st tee. You may have also seen our new bronze statue - oh wait…..that Swibby! We are thrilled to bring Dave back into the fold. “Swibby” is finding the social distancing hard, so he’s keeping tabs on hugs that he owes people. Seriously though, we couldn’t be happier to welcome Dave “Swibby” Swibb back.
Join us in welcoming these fine gentlemen to the team.
Sincerely,
Your Lookout Point Professional Team
GOLF SHOP NOW OPEN
The Golf Shop is now open for the season. We are trying to limit the number of people in the Golf Shop at any given time, so please pay attention to the markings and instructions on the walls & floor. To celebrate our opening we are putting all Men’s & Ladies SUNICE products on sale for 20% off the member price. This is for In-Stock items only and while supplies & sizes last! The sale is on from Now until June 6th. It could be a great time to pick out a couple of Father’s Day pieces at fantastic pricing. Click the button below to view our Sunice items.
ELEVATOR TEMPORARILY OUT OF ORDER
Earlier today the elevator beside the 18th green stopped working. We promptly called in the OTIS company for servicing. They spent the majority of the afternoon trying to provide a fix that would get us back up and running. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so but will hopefully be able to provide us some solutions in the coming days to ensure that the elevator is reliable for our season. Please bear with us, we will continue to update you when we have more information.
As you are aware, Callaway will be on site on Saturday, May 30th to provide fittings for members of Lookout Point Country Club. You MUST have an appointment to participate in a fitting. Due to the overwhelming demand we have reached out to Callaway and asked to extend the day. We are pleased to announce that we will now be conducting fittings from 9am - 5pm on May 30th. The new 2020 Callaway Mavrik product line is the first time that Callaway have put Artifical Intelligence into their Irons to such an extent the the AI face design is different in every loft to maximize performance and ball speed. The Mavrik line of woods have some similarites to the very popular Rogue line from a few year’s ago and introduce 3 new head shape options for players who are looking to control spin & launch and increase both club & ball speeds.

If you have a submission, please email it Dan Roud so we can include it in a future episode.
