Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Afternoon,
We have lots to share this week. First and foremost, we are excited to learn that Ontario is moving to step 3 of the re-opening. What does that mean for Golf Courses? Our friends at “We are Golf” and Golf Ontario have released the following info with a promise that answers to our more specific questions are still to come.
Outdoor social gatherings and organized public events with up to 100 people with limited exceptions
Indoor social gatherings with up to 25 people
Indoor weddings permitted with physical distancing
Indoor dining allowed with no limits on number of patrons per table
Indoor meeting and event space to operate with physical distancing and capacity to not exceed 50 %
Non-essential retail (pro shop) with capacity limited to the number of people that can physically distance
As of right now, all other protocols remain in place, including the government mandated “mask in cart” policy (when with members not from your same household) and masks being worn indoors and outdoors when you are unable to properly social distance.
As a result of the move to Step 3, we are taking this opportunity to again relax guest booking restrictions and return to some of our pre-covid guest policies. (More details are listed below).
Thank you to Nathane Jackson, who helped a number of our members go through a physical screening and evaluation to learn about their specific body limitations which may be impacting their golf game. We look forward to working with Nathane again in the coming weeks as he returns with a program focused on Power Testing and how you can get the most out of what you body is capable of.
UPCOMING EVENT REMINDERS: our 4 Man Quota Points event is now closed for registration. We do have a few limited single spots available for member’s whose category allows for event play. Please contact Ben at ben@lopcc.com to sign up. Our Senior/Junior Club Championship weekend is fast approaching! Make sure to sign up today before it is too late.
We welcome the first of our 3 outside events next Monday, July 19th as the Crimestoppers charity event comes to Lookout Point Country Club. With the protocols in place, we will not be shutting the golf course down for a shotgun, but rather hosting with split tee starts. This means that there will be limited times available (via lottery) for members before the tournament begins and again after the afternoon draw has completed. Please join us in welcoming Crimestoppers staff, volunteers and participants.
Our Ladies League is in the midst of a 2 week break as their social events ramp up. This Tuesday July 13th our Ladies Social Shotgun kicks off followed up by the Kay Fraser (an alternate shot event) on Tuesday, July 20th (tee times starting at 8:30)
See you at the course,

FITTING DAYS
Want to try to newest equipment without the pressure to buy? Want an opportunity to take a properly fitted club immediately onto the course and test it against your own. NOW YOU CAN! Get ready for our Weekly Wednesday Fitting Days on the Lookout Point Practice Range. Thanks to our partnerships with Callaway, PING and Cobra we have fitting components for irons, drivers & some woods and hybrids for each of these brands. Starting on July 14th (from 1-5pm) and July 21st (10am - 5pm) golf shop lead Tim Levert will be taking appointments for fittings each day. Reminder - we have limited components and not necessarily everything that PING, Callaway & Cobra offer - but we certainly have the experience and knowledge to help you make an informed decision. To book, contact Tim in the golf shop or email him at theprofessionalstaff@lopcc.com.
GUEST BOOKINGS
As we enter step 3, we are pleased to relax our current guest booking restrictions. Going forward, you will be able to book guests online and where our regular restrictions permit. We will however, continue to utilize the lottery for member bookings only. All guest bookings must still be made only after the lottery for a given day has been completed. This will help us ensure we are prioritizing member tee times while balancing the desire to host guests at LPCC. The Guest Policy in the member handbook as outlined on page 23 states:
Any member in good standing may introduce guests to the privileges of the Club.
A maximum of three guests may accompany a member in playing the course. There are guest restrictions in place on weekend mornings, holidays, and Thursdays. All guests must play with the sponsoring member, register in the Pro Shop, and pay a green fee prior to playing the course. After payment of green fees, the guest is entitled to only 18 holes of golf per day. A guest who wishes to play another 9 or 18 holes may do so only if there is availability and another green fee is paid prior to commencing the next round.
Guests and visitors must adhere to all rules, regulations, and the Club’s dress code. Any member bringing guests to the Club, grounds, or golf course is responsible for the conduct of such guests at all times and is liable for any debt incurred or damage done by such guests.
Guests who reside within a 100 km radius of the Club and are not members of another private golf club in the area may only play the course once per month and a maximum of seven times per year.
Members’ guests who live outside of a 100 km radius of the club are not restricted to the number of times they may play.
The restrictions as mentioned above are:
1. No Guest Play on Thursdays
2. Maximum of 1 Guest Per Member on Weekend & Holiday Mornings
3. Guest bookings are accepted only after the lottery for a given day has been completed, and members can only book guests within the guidelines of what their category of membership allows.
Introduced in 2020 we have added new Prime & Off-Prime guest fee windows. They are:
Guests before 2:00 pm - PRIME
Guests after 2:00 pm - OFF-PRIME
Guests after 4:00 pm - TWILIGHT
