Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Evening,
Are we sure it’s July and not April at the moment?? The amount of rain we have received over the past days and weeks has been impressive to see. On Saturday, in particular, it reminded me of yet another reason why membership at Lookout Point has it’s benefits. A number of Golf Courses in the Niagara region were forced to close Saturday and did not re-open until Monday or Tuesday. Not only were we open on Sunday morning, but we ran a 130+ member event with carts with no concern for any damage or wet areas. It truly is quite the remarkable piece of property!
On the Golf Operations side of things, we have had a few staff members moving on to bigger and better opportunities and we want to take a moment to thank them for all their efforts this year. Thank You Evan Jeffery, Nick Bisser & Jeff Rousseau (who all work in our guest services / backshop). You guys will be missed. At the same time we are thrilled to welcome a few more faces to the team. Please join us in welcoming Jackson Gates, Tessa Fois & Brycen Lambert. If you see Jackson, Tessa or Brycen over the next few days please give them the Lookout Point welcome they deserve.
Earlier this morning I had the opportunity to attend an “unveiling” at the Marlene Stewart Streit park here in Fonthill. Many of you will already know Marlene Stewart Streit, her connection to Lookout Point and her incredible accomplishments in the world of golf. Today, a group of 7 art students from E.L. Crossley unveiled a mural they had spent over 35 hours painting on a featured wall at the park. Joining the students were many supporters, councillers, friends and family - Marlene even managed to join over zoom to watch the presentation. Lookout Point’s history is rich with incredible people who achieved incredible successes and accomplishments in the world of Golf. Stay tuned to our centennial chronicles and look ahead to next year when you will be able to learn more about why they called Lookout Point “The Home of Champions”

We had 49 entries in this year’s Open pool.
Congrats to DOUG KLOTZ whose team finished with an impressive -40 under par. Led by Collin Morikawa, Louis Oosthuizen & Canadian Mackenzie Hughes, Doug’s team held onto his 3rd round lead to close out the 3 stroke victory.
In a tie for 2nd place (splitting 2nd & 3rd place winnings) at -37 under par were REID HODGSON, SUSAN NEWELL & DOUG KLOTZ (AGAIN…)
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS
HOLE IN ONE(S)
Not ONE but TWO hole in one’s on the golf course today. There must have been something lucky about the morning tee times today as we started off with Frank DeFazio making an ACE on the 8th hole - it was the first of his career! Less than an hour later we heard the yells from the patio again as Ellen McLeod made an ace on #2 during the Kay Fraser Tournament. Congrats to both Frank & Ellen! Great shooting!!!
ONTARIO MEN’S AMATEUR QUALIFYING
On Wednesday, July 14th the Golf Ontario Men’s Am Qualifying returned to Grand Niagara Golf Course. Congratulations to 4 Lookout Point members who made the cut and will be representing Lookout Point at the Ontario Championship held at Beach Grove in a few weeks time. Good Luck Matthew, Isaiah, Jack & Ryan! Play Well
4 MAN QUOTA POINTS
The Annual 4 Man Quota Points competition took place on Sunday, July 18th. Quota Points is similar to a Stableford scoring system but each player on a team is given a “quota” number of points that they are required to earn (based on their handicap). The winning team is the team whose combined points total exceeds their quotas by the greatest margin. Congratulations to the team of JULIO ROCCA, RYAN VALLERIANI, ROD WEST & BART KLIMOWICZ.
Full scoring can be found by clicking on the button below
KAY FRASER TOURNAMENT
Earlier today our Ladies section played the annual Kay Fraser tournament - a two player Alternate Shot competition. Congratulations to today’s winning team of JOANNA MAUND & LAURIE ROBERT.

Get ready for our Weekly Wednesday Fitting Days on the Lookout Point Practice Range. Thanks to our partnerships with Callaway, PING and Cobra we have fitting components for irons, drivers & some woods and hybrids for each of these brands. Starting on July 14th (from 1-5pm) and July 21st (10am - 5pm) golf shop lead Tim Levert will be taking appointments for fittings each day. Reminder - we have limited components and not necessarily everything that PING, Callaway & Cobra offer - but we certainly have the experience and knowledge to help you make an informed decision.
