GOLF SHOP NEWS - November 11th
Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Afternoon,
Did you know? There are only 44 days left until Christmas. Interested in how I know that?….well, my 9-year-old daughter Peyton has already started counting down. So I started my own countdown….Did you know that there are roughly 150 days until the start of the 2022 golf season (…maybe I need to rethink this)
Tuesday & Wednesday of this week Aldo and his team completed the irrigation blowout and we have now entered that time in the season where our maintenance practices have switched focus to ensure the course is prepared for the winter vs. mid-summer playing conditions. If you’ve played recently, you will know that the greens have been aerated, and soon they will be top dressed which will improve drainage and increase the quality of the soil, allowing for better growth and airflow as we head into winter.
To help Aldo and his team, we are going to do a BACK 9 start on Friday, November 12th. This will allow the grounds crew some extra time on the front 9 of the course which they have not had a chance to work on with the busy tee sheet and multiple frost delays.
HOLE IN ONE
Join us in congratulating Patrick Thompson who got his first hole-in-one at Lookout Point earlier this month (end of October to be exact). Patrick made his ace on the 11th hole on October 18th. Congrats Patrick and great shooting!
Another week, and more recognition for our golf course. This week, Golfweek released their rankings for the best 25 classic courses in Canada, and Lookout Point was recognized as number 21 on their list. Click on the button below to read all about it.
A quick reminder that club storage has ended for the season. Please ensure you pick up your clubs, caddies & batteries as we will begin to clean out these areas of the backshop at the end of this week.
Finally, as we go into the offseason, we want to know how we can keep you engaged and in touch with all the happenings here at Lookout Point. Next year is a special year in our history and one that we will have lots of opportunities to celebrate. Please fill in the poll below and let us know what we can do between now and then to keep you interested in what is happening in the golf shop.

GOLF SHOP NEWS - November 4th
Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Afternoon,
It’s beginning to look like the end of the golf season is nearing. Back to back morning’s with frost delays, and looking like another is on the way tomorrow. That said, this weekend the temperatures look to be climbing and the golf course is drying out so we should see a return to carts on all 18 holes. Over the past few days we have been dealing with some issues with our Jonas email notifications. You may find that when booking tee times or making edits you do not receive a confirmation email afterwards. While Jonas is working on this, please feel free to contact the golf shop for any updates needed. We will continue to use the club’s e-blast system to keep members aware of delays and cart availability.
DRIVING RANGE CLOSING, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7th
The driving range and practice facility will close for the season on Sunday, November 7th at 3:00 pm. As you can already see, the city of Pelham have begun installing the snow fencing around the perimeter and our team will be cleaning out and storing all our range equipment in preparation for the end of the season. Aldo and his team will begin their maintenance practices for the range including aeration & topdressing. Our golf shop team will start digging all the plugged balls out, repairing any equipment that needs attention and making sure only the cleanest and newest balls are stored for the 2022 season. The chipping and putting green’s on this side of the road will remain open - please use your own balls.
COURSE CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9th & WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 10th
The course will be closed on Tuesday, November 9th & Wednesday, November 10th for the irrigation blowout. There is a chance that we will be able to open on Wednesday on a first come first serve basis, provided there are no hiccups with the irrigation blowout procedure. We will update the membership during the day on Tuesday once we have an update from our grounds team.
CLUB STORAGE
Club storage and cleaning services will end on Sunday, November 7th. Club’s that are left after the 7th may not be easily accessed based on our modified days of operation.
Read on below for some great deals on demo clubs, holiday socks, theraguns and more. We are also thrilled to introduce our winter simulator program powered by Trackman.
If you have shop credits - now is the time of year to stop in and use them up. If you don’t see something you like, ask us - we can likely order it!

COMING SOON…
We are thrilled to announce this year’s Winter Golf Programming coming to Lookout Point in January of 2022.
As many of you are aware, in 2020/2021 we brought in 2 Golf-In simulators and set up the McInnis Hall as a simulator lounge. In spite of a month long covid-19 shutdown, the winter program was a HUGE success with our members being able to enjoy a wide variety of virtual golf courses and food & beverage offerings. This year we are thrilled to announce that Lookout Point Country Club has partnered with Trackman (the international leader in launch monitor technology) to build the Trackman Studio at Lookout Point Country Club - coming in early January of 2022. Not only will our members be able to enjoy virtual golf on a daily basis, but now, members can take their practice to the next level with one of the the most accurate data capture systems in the world. On the simulator side the golf is so real, you’ll think you’re there. That’s no accident. Trackman completely rebuilt and repurposed the simulator in 2019 to push against the barriers of realism and accuracy.
It’s unique. It’s the best. It’s your indoor window to the great outdoors.

Trackman 4 is not only the engine behind our Winter Simulator, but it will be used ALL YEAR LONG as part of our Academy and Club Fitting programs. With Trackman 4, Lookout Point can now offer our members access to the same fitting experiences you would receive at our normally scheduled vendor fitting days - any day of the week!!! Fitting days will begin in January as we receive next year’s new product, and members will now have a chance to order and receive their custom fit clubs weeks and months before the season begins.
What does Trackman track?
The short answer? Pretty much everything. Slow or fast. It’s covered. With incredible accuracy. The TrackMan 4 can pinpoint with fantastic precision, the landing position of a 400-yard drive. The roll of a putt too. It also maps the shot’s 3D trajectory in real time, together with all impact and launch data. Watch the video below to learn more….
More info will be sent in early December regarding booking procedures, rates and hours of operation.

GOLF SHOP NEWS - October 30th
Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Morning,
Another couple days, another couple inches of rain. Aldo and his team have been constantly walking the fine line between maintaining the golf course, doing all the additional things required at this time of the year to prep it for the winter months & also trying to keep it playable. As we know, our course is more resilient than most - (as seen by a few area courses already starting to close their doors for the season). That said, we will continue to make the right decisions in regards to carts and restrictions to ensure that the course is not damaged by unnecessary wear and tear. We know that when we make the call to cancel carts on a day to day basis, it is not a popular decision. But as a management team we feel strongly that it is the correct decision for the greater good of the course and the safety of the membership as a whole.
Yesterday, I sent a thank you note to all the professionals who came and participated in the PGA of Canada Head Professional National Championship this past week. I thanked them not only the way they treated our staff and membership, but mainly for the care they showed our golf course. Every ball mark was repaired, every divot replaced, and all players were understanding of us not permitting cart traffic during the week. We had daily changes to the tee times, lots of weather challenges and faced numerous obstacles that we had to find a way to overcome. In spite of all of these challenges, not only was the event a huge success but the positive feedback has been overwhelming. Countless volunteers stepped up to the call, whether it was donating their time or lending a push cart. Many of our back shop staff stayed extra hours or came in on day’s off to help caddy. I’d like to take some time and share some of the responses I’ve received from the participants:
Thanks to you and your staff and to your members for offering such a quality golf course late in the season...I think all appreciated the quality and condition of the course and overall service.
- Mike Dagenais
Thank you to you and your staff for a really nice wind up to the season!. The turf crew busted their collective humps to produce a course that played difficult but fair and was more than presentable even during the wet conditions leading up to this week. Well done. The volunteers were also a massive asset to the week, not too much fun for them to be stationary in cool conditions but so very helpful to the players. What a course for older guys! Tricky and fair, risk/reward everywhere if you are up to it! Looking forward to the next round up there
- Keir Smith
The National Golf Club of Canada
I too want to thank you for your hospitality and that of your staff and volunteers. They were all very courteous and polite and made our stay in Niagara very pleasant. I do wish to say I think in the future we need 6 practice rounds to get used to those greens of yours…lol. Very unique and special and fun to play despite the lack of local knowledge. I would love try those greens in the summer because that’s when the members say it is the most entertaining.
- Chris Callihoo
Thank you for hosting us this week. I know it was tough for all your staff and the turf crew to make the event happen with all the rain and everyone did an outstanding job. The course/club/members were all amazing and I really welcome by everyone.
- Jeff Mills

It was great working with you. Lookout was already one of my favourite golf spots, but now with you and Rob running things, it has moved to one of the top spots for working with as well. I don’t recall in my 21 years receiving an email like this from a host club, so kudos to you for taking the time to reach out to those involved with the event.

Thank you very much for hosting us this week. The course was absolutely spectacular and you and your staff did an awesome job adapting to that amount of rainfall. And again, many thanks for finding JJ to caddy for me. Will definitely be back next time in Ontario. Cheers!

Thank you for the very nice email. I can’t believe you are thanking us as Lookout Point deserves all the credit. Wow, what a golf course! I really enjoyed your track and the members and volunteers were all awesome. Thanks for being amazing hosts. I

Just passing on my congratulations and Thank you to everyone at Lookout Point for a great week in hosting the PGA of Canada Head Professional Championship. Organizing an event of this magnitude at this time of year could not have been easy especially given the wet weather we received early in the week. The course played extremely well and everything from the practice facilities to the Pro Shop & volunteers to the F&B was top notch.

Thank you to yourself, your staff, and your membership for hosting the 2021 PGA of Canada Head Professional Championship. I thoroughly enjoyed your golf course and can’t thank you membership enough for allowing us out on your golf course. Even though the weather made it a challenge your team did a great job in making the experience very enjoyable. Please pass on my thanks to your team and membership.

Thank you Dan, your staff and all the member volunteers. I was disappointed my game was so atrocious but the course and everything was great!
- Gar Hamilton
Thanks again for being a first class host for our National Championship. Your course , members, and staff are amazing and we, the players, were privileged to be on the receiving end of such wonderful treatment. A big thanks to Aldo and his staff for making the course such a joy to play , and getting it in such great shape after that crazy few days of weather. I look forward to the chance of playing there again sometime.
- Gord Burns
I just wanted to say that the staff and the golf course were incredible the entire week. For taking in this tournament for the first time, I was truly gracious for the opportunity to play such a fun yet challenging test, and just an overall large thanks to you and your team for the hospitality.
- Jason Moxam
The Nest Golf Club at Friday Harbour
It is us that should be thanking you. What a tremendous course Lookout Point is. The length debate doesn’t need to be had with holes like number 3. I just loved the course. While as a 59 year old I really needed a cart, it was absolutely the correct decision not to allow them. Not only would they have done a lot of damage to the course it would’ve been dangerous too. Your staff was very helpful as were the volunteers, please pass on my thanks.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note thanking yourself and team for a great week out at Lookout Point. I have never visited the area before, it was great experience for me, the golf course was great even with all the moisture, you have a top notch facility.

Thanks for hosting us this year, considering the weather the course played fantastic. Lookout Point Country Club was a fantastic experience. Was so great to see how many members appreciated hosting the event, something that is not always the case. They were very proud to be members at the club and it really showed.

LOOKOUT POINT CLIMBS THE RANKINGS
www.top100golfcourses.com is an independent rankings website. They are not associated with any of the golf publications that rank golf courses (other than their own), but are instead made up of hundreds of reviewers who are passionate about golf courses and architecture and feature thousands of reviews from all around the world. Here’s a snapshot from their website:
There is nothing new about ranking golf courses. Numerous publications around the world produce their own lists using their panels. What is different about our approach is our process. Our extended network of correspondents, contributors and aficionados supply the data we weight most heavily. These trusted expert opinions, from golfers who have played an extensive number of golf courses in their country or territory, provide the data we weight most heavily, but we also consider our online data posted by many of our reviewers, some of whom go on to become our panelists/raters.
We keep a watchful eye on the rankings published by magazines, of course, but we don’t use their data or any other third party data in our ranking calculations. We take pride in our independence, which enables freedom from bias and commercial influence.
It’s impossible to remove subjectivity from the process of ranking golf courses. The definition of each element that should combine to make the perfect golf course has not been written or generally accepted. Dr Alister MacKenzie’s “13 General Principles of Architecture” and Charles Blair Macdonald’s seven “Essential Characteristics” for the ideal golf course go some way towards defining the key characteristics. In the absence of universally accepted criteria, we do our utmost to arrive at genuine, honest and informed golf course rankings. We’ll admit we get it wrong from time to time, so we’ll never claim that our rankings are definitive. No golf course ranking is perfect.
The criteria we ask our expert raters to follow focuses on the following headline areas: a) quality of design and test (40%), b) visual appeal and enjoyment (30%), c) presentation (30%). We’ve tested many different methods using continuous improvement processes, but we always remind golfers that the most realistic golf course rankings are in our own mind’s eye.
On October 27th, 2021, top100golfcourses released it’s updated rankings heading into 2022 (last done in 2019). The full article and rankings list can be found by clicking the button below. We are thrilled to announce that not only has Lookout Point moved up the list this year, but with the exception of a few new entires, we are the highest movers on the list, moving up 17 spots from our 2019 ranking.
#36 In Canada
#18 In Ontario
Biggest mover from 2019 (Previously #53)
Moving up seventeen places to #36, the course at Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ontario celebrates its centenary next year. One of only three Canadian layouts designed by Walter Travis, the course lies just ten miles west of the famous Niagara Falls at one of the most elevated positions on the Niagara Escarpment, hence its name. Architect Ian Andrew has left his mark here in the last few years, restoring a number of the greens.

GOLF SHOP NEWS - October 24th
Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Morning,
Another brisk day here at Lookout Point Country Club. We are now seeing single digit temperatures in the mornings and the dreaded F word may start showing up sooner rather than later…. FROST. We would like to remind all members to check their emails before coming to the course when there are any adverse weather conditions and/or chances of frost as we will communicate updates through our Jonas tee time booking system. If you missed Aldo’s Green Report earlier this week, here is a great tip:
A little tip to keep in mind regarding frost delays. If you have an early tee time and the evening before has clear skies along with low temps, expect frost to occur with the potential of tee time delays. If the evening before has low temps, with complete cloud cover, generally expect no frost delays. Hope this little tip helps.
As we head into November, some of our services will be modified. While we don’t have a firm closing date in place (mother nature may determine that for us) we ask members to consider the following:
Call ahead for practice facility availability. Based on rain/frost and conditioning our Practice Facility hours may change from day to day. Give us a call for the most up to date information
If you are winding down your golf for the season, consider taking your clubs & caddies home from storage and cleaning out your lockers. Should mother nature decide to impact our closing plans in a rapid way, we may not have staff on site and/or hours of availability for you to collect your clubs and locker items. Clubs left during the off-season are not the responsibility of the club as outlined under the “personal property” section of the member handbook.
Golf Shop Credits - Now is the time to use up those golf shop credits you have earned. We have excellent deals in the Golf Shop and can still order almost anything that you need.
Deep-tyne aerification/topdressing will take place the week of Nov 1st. The golf course will remain open for play with temporary green closures as the outside contractors complete the deep-tyne process.
The winterizing of the irrigation system will take place November 9th & 10th. The course will remain closed on November 9th and anticipate that the course will reopen on November 10th at Noon.
Upon completion of the irrigation system blow-out we will be closing the golf course for two days to apply our winter fungicide applications on greens, tees, and fairways. The applications are weather dependent, and this schedule may vary. While applying these fungicides we cannot accommodate any play due to safety guidlines. We will re-open the course upon completion of the spraying. Dates to be determined

NOVEMBER TEE TIME LOTTERIES
Starting November 1st we will be modifying our current Lottery timelines.
Currently we open our tee sheets approximately 10 days in advance and lottery times can be booked up until 7 days in advance. One of the things we have noticed lately is an increase in tee time cancellations. While most of this is due to weather, one downside of inputting a lottery request upwards of 10 days in advance is that the weather is very unpredictable at best. As a result, we have too many members inputting bookings that end up going unused. Late in the season, the points earned from these cancellations don’t have the same impact as members may be booking their last rounds of the year. Starting November 1st we will open our tee sheets 7 days in advance and accept lottery requests up to 5 days in advance. We hope that members will wait until as close to the 5 days as possible to input their lottery request. This should help us have a more consistent and accurate lottery going forward. Please note the new daily lottery deadlines:
Sundays - All lottery requests due by Tuesday prior
Monday - All lottery requests due by Wednesday prior
Tuesday - All lottery requests due by Thursday prior
Wednesday - All lottery requests due by Friday prior
Thursday - All lottery requests due by Saturday prior
Friday - All lottery requests due by Sunday prior
Saturday - All lottery requests due by Monday prior

Vokey Wedges, Scotty Cameron Putters, Golf Balls and more…
Titleist will be on site on Friday, October 29th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Now is a great time to grab some fresh wedges for next season or place an order to ensure you have new clubs to start the year (or head down south with). We will also have Andrew Cox on site to discuss Golf Balls and help members choose which ball they should be using at this time in the season. To book a time, email theprofessionalshop@lopcc.com
2021 AWARDS NIGHT…..DETAILS TO COME
Covid-19 changed the way we did many of our Member Events in 2021. With tee time starts, we were unable to have our traditional awards ceremonies to recognize our winners at the end of each competition.
Now that capacity restrictions have been eased, we are going to start planning a special 2021 Awards Night. More information will be coming in the next few weeks regarding the date as we attempt to coincide the awards night with the launch of our offseason simulator programming.
Members who won awards in 2021, expect an official invitation in the coming weeks.
FROM THE BPG SHOW….
What’s new in 2022!
Continuing from last week’s blast - here are another 2 new brands you can expect to see in the Golf Shop in 2022.
Jones Golf Bags
Jones Sports Co. began in 1971, when a part-time golfer and cab driver from Portland Oregon glued, taped and cobbled together the first of what would become a line of golf bags that would revolutionize the carry golf bag industry. The plan was simple: Create an iconic, functional bag that could easily be customized. The result was a lightweight carry bag that served as the face of amateur, high school and collegiate golf for generations. However, the technical and design revolution the modern golf bag underwent in the early 1990s left the Original Jones Bag to fend for itself as a single-strap, no-stand bag that seemed to be slowly forgotten among the new styles and features of the modern golf bag.
Now, years after they stopped making what is arguably the most successful and iconic carry bag in the history of the game, the original design is back. The Original Jones Golf Bag, as well as a complement of new bags, are sure to capture the imagination of golfers worldwide. Jones Sports Co. has taken 40 years of history, tradition, and memories and put them all back where they belong, in the Original Jones Bag.
Simplify and golf.

Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Morning,
It’s been a busy couple of weeks here in the Golf Shop. Last week, Adam & I visited our first BPG buying show. BPG (Boutique Pro Golf) is a cooperative of over 120 of the top Golf Clubs in Canada. BPG is an integral part of our strategy as a Golf Shop as the strength of our buying group allows us to leverage more unique products and provide them to you at incredible member prices. For some of the highlights from the show see the What’s new in 2022 section below.
Closer to home, we have been treated to some excellent fall weather - maybe with a bit more rain than we would like. As the leaves begin to turn, feel free to send any great photos you take on the course to us so we can share them on our social media channels! Thank you to Carolyn Culliton, Terri Kershaw & Ben Scapillati for sending in these AMAZING photos of this morning’s double rainbow
Another incredible photo from the course, courtesy of Bill Tomlinson as some foxes are checking out the play coming up the 18th hole.
As you are aware, next week (Monday October 24th - Thursday, October 28th) we are hosting the PGA of Canada Head Pro Championship. Thank you to the over 30 members who have reached out to volunteer in some capacity over the 4 days of competition. We will be meeting with the PGA of Canada shortly, and ALL volunteers can expect to hear from us in the next couple of days about what roles you will be fulfilling.
Want to get involved in the Club Pro Championship, but don’t necessarily want to volunteer? WE NEED YOUR HELP! - Let’s raise some money for Junior Golf! The PGA of Canada is excited to announce that, alongside BetRegal, the official Sports Gaming Partner of the PGA of Canada, they have created a way for you to support your pro and get closer to the action at the PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf than ever before. We are thrilled to announce that Rob Hickson will be representing Lookout Point Country Club in this year’s event!!! What’s new in 2022!
Check out the below previews for a few new brands we will be carrying in the golf shop in 2022.
Raw Elements Sunscreen
From founder Brian Guadagno:
I’ve been an Ocean Lifeguard my whole life, and through that experience I discovered how harmful chemical sunscreens are for our personal health and the health of our environment. I was really horrified at this discovery. I went on a quest to find a safe and effective solution, but one just did not exist.
After doing a great deal of research, I turned my kitchen into a lab and began formulating my own. My goal was to develop a natural sunscreen that could keep up with the active person and develop a brand that could connect with many different types of people. I really felt there was a huge void and so many people needed access to this type of sunscreen. This process led to the development of Raw Elements USA.
There have been many people who have been incredibly supportive along the way, which makes all the difference in the world. Our team challenges itself every day to find new, innovative ways to pioneer change and shift ways of thinking. We are committed to having a positive impact on all that we do.
Thank you for trusting us, together we are making a difference!

GOLF SHOP NEWSLETTER
GOLF SHOP NEWS - September 29th
Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Afternoon,
The leaves haven’t quite started to turn colour, but the days are getting shorter and the mornings are cooler signaling that Fall is officially here. The course remains in great condition and the demand for tee times remains at an all time high. The month of September saw over 5170 rounds of golf played (4,554 member rounds and 616 guest rounds) for an average of 172 rounds per day. Weather had an impact in 2021 as we lost 3 days (8th, 22nd and 23rd) and an additional day of closure for the Wise Guys charity event on the 27th. Removing those days from the calculation we had an average of 187 rounds per day in 2021 in the month of September. This is actually a slight increase in the daily average vs. September of 2020 (185 rounds per day). Last month the NGCOA published their regional report for rounds played and while golf continues to enjoy enormous popularity, every other region in Ontario reported a decline in monthly rounds with the exception of Niagara which continued to surpass 2020 numbers.
Last week, we had our friends from Club Car in to do some additional maintenance on our cart fleet, including replacing even more of our current lead acid batteries. In total we were able to “refresh” an additional 8-10 carts to help improve some of the quality issues we have been experiencing.
Before we move on to the rest of today’s e-blast we also want to take a moment to recognize a key member of our Professional Team who got married this past Saturday, October 2nd. Congratulations to Adam Steinschifter!!! We wish Charlotte & Adam a long and happy life together - from all your friends here at Lookout Point Country Club

Starting on Sunday, October 10th our morning tee sheet will begin at 8:30 am daily and we will be eliminating the weekend crossover for the remainder of the season. The Golf Shop hours will also be adjusted. As of Sunday, October 10th we will be open daily from 8:00 am to sunset (approximately 7:30 pm)
The Practice range and facilities will continue to be open 30 mins prior to the first tee time until dusk (our regularly weekly maintenance hours will remain in place)
Guest Fees will be adjusted after Thanksgiving weekend. Starting on Tuesday, October 12th guest fees will be offered at our off-season rate ($89 with cart included for 18 holes). The member lottery will remain in place and guest times may only be booked after the member lottery has been completed.

PGA OF CANADA CHAMPIONSHIP
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
More info below..
It was announced earlier this summer that the PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf and with support from Golf Away Tours and G&G Golf Company has a date finalized on Canadian soil, as the association looks forward to hosting the top Head Professionals, Executive Professionals, Head Teaching Professionals and Master Professionals in the country at Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ontario.
The official practice round is scheduled for October 25, while the three-round competition will run from October 26-28.
“We are so pleased to round out our National Championship schedule at such a tremendous venue in Lookout Point Country Club,” said PGA of Canada president Teejay Alderdice. “I’d like to thank the staff at Lookout Point for offering their facility to us for the week, as well as Callaway Golf for being such a tremendous partner of the association.”
We are looking for members who want to volunteer and be part of this incredible event. Here is a quick rundown of the various roles and responsibilities. Once we have a better idea of how many volunteers we have we will be in touch with more detail regarding specific daily schedules. Click on the button below to show your interest. PLEASE NOTE: The PGA of CANADA has made it a requirement that all participants in this event are fully vaccinated.
Registration - Help with registration on Monday, October 25th
Live Scoring - scoring stations will be setup around the golf course to capture scores of the groups every 3-4 holes.
Standard Bearers - Usually on the final day we will have standard bearers accompany the last two or three groups. This requires one or two people to work together with each group. One person can hold the standard sign , while the other will be given a tablet as well to do live hole by hole scoring.
Spotters/Forecaddies - we will need members to help as spotters on #1, #10 and #13
Transportation - responsible for shuttling volunteers to different locations where they are positioned on course. This position could also help with replenishing water coolers or hot chocolate/coffee.
Caddies - some players may request caddies for the tournament rounds.
Practice Range - a few volunteers to help manage the range in the mornings. Help move ropes if needed, replenish balls for the players, keep the hitting areas tidy and clean and assist it making sure players at the range know when they need to head to the tee.
Until the snow flies save 40% on ALL men’s and ladies apparel (in stock items only)
PREORDERS - CLICGEAR & ALPARD EWHEELS
As you are aware, this season has had major impact on the supply chain of many golf companies. ClicGear & Alphard were one of those companies that saw many delays due to shipping container shortages and factories being closed due to covid-19 outbreaks. Unfortunately, due to this ongoing production shortages, there will be no availability before the end of 2021 golf season. In the past these have been excellent holiday gift ideas. As a result, all outstanding and all open backorders have been cancelled by the supplier.
We are going to try something different in order to avoid similar delays in 2022. We will be taking pre-orders until October 15th marked for April 2022 Delivery.
Production fees have increased along with significant increase in container charges (600%) - ultimately resulting in a noticeable increase in wholesale and retail pricing. Putting our orders in now will allow us to mitigate some of these price increases and also ensure that your have your cart for the start of the 2022 season.
The ClicGear M4 is one of the most popular 3 wheeled push carts on the market. It folds up in no time at all, making it extremely lightweight and portable.
The Alphard E-Wheels turns your clicgear (and some other push carts) into a remote operated caddy. All at a significant savings when compared to the power caddies on the market.
If you are interested in placing a pre-order, do so by clicking on the button below BEFORE October 15th , 2021.
ETIQUETTE REMINDERS
Many private golf courses are still under guest restrictions. We are fortunate here at Lookout Point that we have been able to revert to largely pre-covid guest rules. While we are not accepting advanced guest requests we are able to book you and your guests within your category restrictions once the lottery has been completed for a given day (lottery times are reserved for members only). Over the past few weeks we have seen an uptick in some common areas of concern that we need your help. All members are responsible for their guests while they are on the property and that includes providing your guests the proper information they need to plan their visit to Lookout Point Country Club. Please ensure that your guest is dressed in the proper attire (based on our dress code) and follows the member code of conduct while enjoying the day with us. Remind your guests to repair all ball marks and replace all divots. Vaccination protocols are now in effect for indoor dining - please ensure your guest(s) are aware of these before arrival.
Here are a few great videos from the USGA which we should all take 5 mins to watch and review and make sure we are doing our part to leave the golf course better than we found it!
GOLF SHOP NEWSLETTER
GOLF SHOP NEWS - September 14th
Message From the Professional Staff,
Good Afternoon,
We’ve got a FULL newsletter for you today! Before you scroll down to catch up on what is happening, we have a couple people deserving of some recognition. Bill Bestward & Bruce Herbeson both made Hole in Ones this past week! Bill on the 5th hole on September 5th and Bruce on the 5th hole on September 2nd. Did you know that 65% of our hole in one’s this year have been on the 5th hole! We may need to get Aldo to work on some new pin locations…
Today, Tuesday September 14th is National “Thank A Super” day. “Golfers rely on excellent course conditions for their enjoyment of Canada’s No.1 participation sport, and superintendents work hard each day to fulfill that need” , said Jeff Calderwood, executive director of the CGSA. “This year, in particular, they have played a key role in developing additional safety protocols that ensure golfers can enjoy their favourite sport in such a healthy environment.”
As courses re-opened after the early months of the crisis, the demand for golf was clear. In Canada , golf rounds were up in June and July by 24 and 26 per cent, respectively, with that trend expected to continue through the remainder of the golf season.
In addition to dealing with new pandemic procedures, superintendents continually strive to keep the game’s playing fields healthy and beautiful with environmental stewardship as a primary focus. Thanks to the overall efforts of the golf industry, golf courses are using less water, employing sustainable management practices and expanding natural wildlife habitats on courses.
Here at Lookout Point, we are fortunate to have one of the best in the business in Aldo Bortolon. Please join us in thanking Aldo (and his team) for the incredible work they have done over the past year. tag #ThankASuper and Lookout Point on your social media channels with why you are thankful for your super - and we will be sure to repost.

FROM THE GAMES COMMITTEE..
Member events are not only chances for our membership to get together, socialize and meet new people - they are also a great way to test your game and enjoy some fun competition.
We have had an excellent member event season so far, and are now looking forward to our Men’s & Ladies Closing Field Day on Saturday, October 2nd (tee times starting at 8:00 am). Registration will be open on Thursday, September 16th under the events & registration section of member central. The format for this year’s closing field day is a bit different than in year’s past. Our goal is to host an event that is centered on fun and inclusivity. As such, we will be playing foursome scramble (handicapped). Players will be sorted into pods based on their index (A,B,C,D) and randomly assigned to teams. Teams will receive a team handicap based on the USGA recommended method which combines each players handicap using the following percentages based on their A,B,C,D status: 25%, 20%, 15%, 10%.
There will be prizes for the top 20% of each division (Men’s & Ladies). Players will sign up as an individual for this event, and we will have the preliminary draw released shortly after the registration date closes on Saturday, September 25th.
Over the past few events we have had a unusual number of comments from members concerned about various rules infractions occurring during the member events. All of our events are governed by the rules of golf and it’s expected that members follow these rules during competition plan. We understand that we all make mistakes on the course, whether that’s playing from a wrong tee or maybe taking a gimme when it wasn’t allowed. The rules of golf give us guidance on how to correct these issues to keep the play fair and equitable for all. We don’t expect anyone to be an expert on the rules of golf - and many different formats allow for things such as given putts or not finishing out a hole, but if you’d like to feel a bit more prepared for your next member event, here is a great video highlighting some of the most common mistakes we make during tournament play
