Message from your Professional Staff at Lookout Point Country Club
It’s been an exciting week at the Golf Shop as we look forward to the return of our Men’s & Ladies leagues for the 2020 season. We also have some news below about the start-up of our Learning Center programs & lessons
Father’s day is fast approaching, and our shop is fully stocked with some great gift ideas and items for your consideration. In additional to the Father’s Day promo outlined below we have partnered up with Travis Mathew on a June promotion that we know fans of the Travis Mathew brand will surely want to get behind!
There was some confusion with our communication over the past couple of weeks introducing some of the new members of our Staff. These new hires were brought in for our Golf Operations as a whole, not specifically to the Golf Shop. Our new staff are working in roles such as Member Services, Starters, Course Marshalls, Range Attendants & Play Coordinators. We have been thrilled with the teamwork and willingness of each of our Golf Operations staff to go above and beyond in their daily tasks.
One quick note to those of you who are members of the GHIN network (USA Handicap System) and track your handicap on both the GHIN network as well as Golf Canada. There is currently a system error on the USGA side that preventing Golf Canada scores from showing up on the GHIN network. Rest assured, once the issue is resolved your scores will be “pushed” over automatically. Please continue to input and update your scores using the Golf Canada website or Golf Canada app. We have also been made aware of some errors with our course data as it is currently listed with Golf Canada. They have assured us that our information will be updated ASAP.
As you are aware, we have been continually monitoring our daily tee sheet and making updates and changes to our protocols and guidelines as we have been able to do so. Most recently, that included shortening our tee time intervals from 12 to 10 minutes and introducing the popular “walking times” on the 0:50 of each hour which has helped us ensure we have Carts available for all members who want one and given ALL of our categories of membership even more access to the tee sheet. We are please to announce that starting on Saturday, June 13th we will be resuming our Saturday & Sunday "split tee start” in the mornings. The “split tee start” allows us to get more of our members on the Golf Course during the time of day that is most popular. To ensure we stay diligent with our physical distancing protocols we will be alternating start times on both tees. For example, the 1st tee will have starting on the hour (8:00, 8:10, 8:20 etc.) The 10th tee will have it’s starting times start on the 0:05 (8:05, 8:15, 8:25, 8:35 etc.). Groups “on deck” for the 10th tee will be instructed to park their carts in the grass area closest to the fence while using the putting green. Groups “on deck” for the first tee will continue to park their carts/bags by the pylon nearest the back shop doors. Please continue to obey all signage and ensure while on the putting green you are at least 2 club lengths (6 ft) away from any other player at ALL times. During the first phase of the split start we will NOT be running a Lottery. Times can be booked up to 7 days in advance via the normal online booking procedure.

FATHER’S DAY LUCKY SQUARES FUNDRAISER
Starting Saturday, June 6th we will run a Lucky Squares contest with proceeds being donated to the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society. In a recent Niagara This Week article, John Greer, the executive director of the Niagara SPCA shared information on how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting families, pet owners, shelters, and food bank supplies. Through our Lucky Squares contest we will be donating $500 to the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society on behalf of the members of Lookout Point Country Club.
The cost to Purchase a square is $20. Squares can be picked by visiting the Golf Shop. At this time, we will not be accepting cash - all squares purchased will be charged on your member account. On Sunday, June 21st (Father’s Day) in cooperation with our Titleist Fitting Day (details below) we will be drawing the following prizes:
1st Place Prize: A Titleist Prize package worth approximately $700. Includes a Titleist Golf Bag, Foot Joy Shoes, Titleist Hat, Foot Joy Gloves and 1 Dozen Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.
Runner Up Prizes (12 in total): 1 Dozen Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls.

CLUB FITTING WEEKEND!!!
We had such a great response to last weekend’s Callaway Fitting Day that we’re going to do it again….but this time, we’re going to make it MUCH, MUCH, BIGGER!!!
We are excited to announce that TITLEIST, TAYLORMADE & CALLAWAY will be coming to Lookout Point to offer free fittings (by appointment ONLY) to our members on June 19th, 20th, and 21st. Book an appointment to find out how the 2020 line of Drivers, Woods, Hyrbids & Irons can help you improve your game this season. (Click on the links below to book your fittings)
During these unprecedented times, all of our Manufacturers have taken advanced measures to ensure your health and safety, as well as that of their staff and their teams. Those measures include:
Fitting reps are required to use face coverings at all fitting events
All fittings will be limited to 1-on-1 experiences with social distancing practices
Fitting reps are equipped with a sanitization kit that includes disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, disinfectant soap, towels and sterilized brushes
Golf equipment will be cleaned and sterilized following each usage
Rest assured that your health and safety is the No. 1 priority for both Lookout Point and our brand partners. We will ask that you respect our existing protocols by not attending if you have a cough or fever (or have had in the last 14 days), have been exposed to someone who has had COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or might otherwise expose the fitting staff or other members to unnecessary risk.

As a new season starts, we want to remind you that Lookout Point’s PGA of Canada Life Professional AL KMETY is available to repair any clubs and provide re-gripping services for the 2020 season. Al can be contacted by calling 905-328-3508.
LESSONS & LEARNING CENTER UPDATE
We’re here to help. Equipped with the latest technology, and years of experience teaching and playing, our instructors will help you hit your next ball better. We’ve heard your requests for lessons and we are ready to open the Learning Center for the 2020 season. During the first phase of opening we will only be offering private lessons (semi-private are available ONLY to two members who reside in the same household). More information on group lessons, clinics, pre-paid lesson packages, camps and other programs will be made available once protocols and guidelines allow.
