WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE GOLF SHOP - EPISODE 14
Message from your Professional Staff at Lookout Point Country Club
Good Evening,
As you are all aware, as of July 4th we began to accept guest rounds (1 per member) on Saturday’s, Sunday’s & Monday’s after 2pm based on tee sheet availability. This past weekend we were pleased to be able to entertain 35 of your guests for play! We are very proud of our golf course and it is a great feeling when we have a chance to show it off.
Did you know? There are over 2300 golf courses in Canada. Did you also know that earlier this week, Score Golf announced that Lookout Point Country Club has AGAIN been named in the top 3% of those courses? This year, we made the list at #78 of the top 100 courses in Canada. This was a move up the rankings from our spot in 2018. Click HERE to read all about it. Score Golf publishes their top 100 every 2 years. Here is how we have faired recently:
2018 - 87th
2016 - 74th
2014 - 93rd
2012 - 85th
2010 - 88th
2008 - 86th

2004 - 87th
CART DIVIDERS - UPDATED POLICY
Earlier today we were able to consult with both the National Golf Course Owner’s Association as well as our local Niagara Public Health Unit to clarify restrictions and guidelines for the use of cart dividers. The Niagara Health Unit has confirmed the following: “If two riders are from the same household, OR are in the same social circle then a divider is NOT required”.
WHAT IS A SOCIAL CIRCLE?
Social Circles are made up of up to 10 people, who can interact without physical distancing.
Here's how to create your social circle:
Step 1: Start with your current circle. These include the people you live with or who regularly come into your household.
Step 2: If your current circle is under 10 people, you can add members to your circle, including another household, family members or friends.
Step 3: Get agreement from everyone that they will join the circle.
Step 4: Keep your social circle safe. Maintain physical distancing with anyone outside of your circle.
Step 5: Be true to your circle. No one should be part of more than one circle.
WALKING TEE TIMES
We are continuing to closely monitor our ability to operate our cart fleet at full capacity and ensure that all members who require a power cart have one available to them. One method of managing this was the introduction of walking only tee times. We are going to continue to offer these “walking only” tee times however, we are now confident that we can provide more flexibility and continue to have enough carts available. Starting on Wednesday, July 15th we will be reducing the number of “walking only” tee times to once every two hours (previously they were available once per hour). The 8:50, 10:50, 12:50, 2:50, 4:50 & 6:50 tee times will returned to the regular pool of tee times. The 7:50, 9:50, 11:50, 1:50 & 3:50 tee times will only be available to book by phone or in person in the Golf Shop. Regular booking restrictions apply.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
As every week goes by we continue to hear positive news regarding case numbers and it appears that we are making progress in Canada and Ontario on reducing the number of Covid-19 cases. We also want to thank you as members who have supported and respected the protocols and guidelines we have put in place. Unfortunately, we are not out of the woods yet - and until we are told we can move into stage 3 (and what exactly stage 3 entails) we need your continued cooperation. Over the past week we have observed too many members (in all categories) starting to get a bit too comfortable and push the limits of a number of the protocols that we have put in place.
Should a positive case of Covid-19 appear at Lookout Point we need to be able to trust the integrity of our various reservation systems in order to be able to react to the required contact tracing protocols. This is why we have rules in place for when you are able to arrive on property and how long you can remain on property after your round. Members are required to have at least one of the following 3 types of reservations PRIOR to coming on the property: 1) A Tee Time reservation, 2) A Driving Range reservation or 3) A F&B reservation. Please review the following and help us do our part to keep Lookout Point safe:
FOOD & BEVERAGE PATIO SERVICE: Available ONLY with a reservation OR after a booked round of golf.
DRIVING RANGE : Available 30 mins before your tee time OR with a range appointment booked in advance.
1ST TEE: You may arrive 30 mins prior to your scheduled tee time. Additionally, please refrain from arriving at the 1st tee area or practice green until it is 10 mins before your tee time so we can avoid congestion.
PRACTICE AREA BY 9th GREEN: Available for members 30 minutes before a BOOKED tee time.
In addition we ask for your support in the following areas:
Until a resolution has been made for the issue with the elevator - please feel free to use the carts provided near the 18th green. These carts will have dividers installed, so please double up as required. This allows us to serve more people by getting carts sanitized and returned to the 18th site quickly and efficiently.
Please continue to use the cart drop off area at the end of your round and remove all your garbage and place into the marked bins, and remember to double check your cart for any personal items that may be left behind.
When taking carts to the range - please park on the path or the parking lot, not on the grass or tee deck.
Divot mix is available in pre-sanitized bottles by the water & ice machine. Remember to repair your divots and fix your ball marks!
Sincerely,
Your Lookout Point Professional Team

Shooting Your Age…
Earlier this week Keith Lenahan (age 77) shot an impressive 74 to beat his age for the first time this season. Great shooting Keith! Hot on Keith’s heels we have another member who is in great form and looking poised to shoot their own in only a matter of time… Des Brady shot 72 back on June 29th. Not only that, but a week or so earlier Des made a 2 on #17. Nicely done Des - Keep up the great play!
