MESSAGE FROM THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Good Afternoon,
Earlier this week, you all received the email Announcement from our Board of Directors which shared the news that our General Manager, Dan Greenwood will be leaving this summer. While we couldn’t be happier for Dan & his family on the amazing opportunity and journey ahead of them, we would be amiss if we didn’t also share how sad we are to see them go! On behalf of all of the Professional Staff, Thank You Dan for your leadership, guidance and support over the past 6 seasons! We will continue to stay focused on making Lookout Point the #1 private golf experience in Niagara and we look forward to welcoming you back for many future visits.
It’s been a busy week at LPCC! As you can see from the image above, inventory has started to arrive - stay tuned as we will be sending out our annual “Spring Shop Guide” and announcing our official opening date for the Golf Shop in next week’s newsletter.
A couple quick reminders: Adam & Charlotte’s Virtual Stag and Doe is wrapping up soon, with their Virtual Bingo tomorrow (Saturday, March 20th). Last chance to get your tickets here: https://charlotteadamsstagdoe.com.
Don’t wait to get your Buy 3, Get 1 Free personalized golf ball order in! We were advised yesterday that orders for the popular Taylormade TP5x are now delayed until early June. This current pre-order window has been provided to our club in advance of the Titleist Loyalty launch in early April (Callaway & Taylormade promos have already launched). Now is the time to get our orders in before the queue fills up with the general public.
Coach’s Corner will be back next week with a video from our very own PGA of Canada Life Professional, Al Kmety on the importance of Ball Position. In it’s place, and with March Madness starting today, it felt appropriate to bring back our Favourite Hole Bracket Challenge. Details below.
This week our “Meet the Team” staff member is Jessie Robertson. Did you know that Jessie recently started her own Juicery?? Hope on over to instagram and follow @jessiesjuiceryco to learn more (Hopefully coming to a Golf Shop near you soon!!!). In the meantime, orders can be placed via direct message on instagram.
On behalf of the Professional Staff,
Dan Roud
Golf Shop Manager
PGA of Canada
How long have you been at LPCC?
This season will be my 3rd year at LPCC.
What’s your favorite event at LPCC?
My favourite event at LPCC is the member guest. This multi-day tournament is a partner event, and a great chance for the staff to meet some new friendly faces. Not only is it exciting to watch the teams compete, but the matching team uniforms are the icing on the cake.
If you could play any course in the world, what would it be?:
I haven’t played many courses (besides local ones), but I’d have to say Cabot Cliffs is definitely one of the top courses on my list! I’ve never been to Cape Breton, but the back drop looks absolutely stunning.
What are some of your career goals?
I currently have a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion, as well as a Bachelor of Physical Education with Biology as my minor. The plan for the future is to hopefully get to teach in a high school setting.
Pastimes or hobbies?
I am a huge lover of all things sports and physical activity. Hockey is a sport that I have played and been passionate about since the young age of 5. I also play slow pitch in the summer months. On my spare time you can catch me attempting to bake or hanging out with friends/family.
What are some of your goals for the 2021 season?
For the 2021 season, game related; I would like to improve my golf game in general (it needs work in all areas ha-ha). With that being said, I am excited to learn more from the great group of golf professionals that we have at LPCC. Work related; I have been educating myself a little more this winter on the game of golf and the hard goods in the shop (i.e. balls and clubs). Going forward I would love to continue to learn all the different aspects that could potentially improve a member's golf game and help provide even better solutions for our members.
Favorite food on the LPCC menu?
The Big Burrito Wrap is hands down my favourite item on the LPCC menu. The chicken fingers & Caesar salad come in a close second place!
March Madness “Favorite Hole” Tournament …. part 2
With the absence of the March Madness tournament last year, we created our own favourite hole at LPCC bracket. Hundreds of votes came in on every matchup and at the end of the day Hole #3 beat out Hole #10 for the championship. We are back for year 2 - the seeds have been rearranged and you can view the entire bracket below. This week we feature our Play in Matches between Holes 17 v 9 and Holes 7 v 2. Submit your picks below.
Cobra Copper Irons
For any iron collector’s out there (or closet Rickie Fowler fans…..we know you exist), Cobra has released limited edition copper versions of their Forged TEC, RF Forged MB & King Tour irons. This sunday’s fitting day is sold out, but Cobra will be back in April and May for members who want to take advantage of excellent performance at incredible prices. Click on the buttons below to view the new copper collections and contact your professional staff with any questions.
THE PLAYERS POOL RESULTS
Congrats to Justin Thomas on winning the 2021 Player’s Championship. Closer to home our first Golf Pool of the season wrapped up with Rick Kannenberg’s team (anchored by Lee Westwood, Bryson DeChambeau & Corey Conners) cruising to a 4 shot victory at -43 under par. We had 26 entries participate. Stay tuned for the next pool which will be the 2021 Masters.
